Georgi-Ann Jackman, BA (Psych), MA Music Therapist
Music flows all around us, from our heart beat to the very building blocks of our language. It is innate and can help connect us to ourselves and the people around us. Often times in the world we live in today we become disconnected from our whole selves, due to various circumstances. Georgi-Ann’s job as a Music Therapist is not to fix but to connect people to parts of themselves that may have become emotionally, mentally or socially disconnected. She works with the individual as they discover and explore aspects of self. She believes it is a journey where trust and unconditional positive regard are developed and practiced. Having trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama at the graduate level, she is a registered Music Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK.
Lydia Ray, CELTA, BA, BSc., MEd Gifted Education Facilitator
Our world is filled with paradoxes. Gifted students understand this all too well as they try to balance a mind that is often more advanced than the body or emotions. Lydia sees her role as a guide and a nurturer for gifted individuals as they try to make sense of their vast and often conflicting world, while maintaining their identity and uniqueness. Equally as important, she understands the value of coaching those who have gifted individuals in their care. She is a lifelong learner who believes that a blend of experience, knowledge, passion and dedication is paramount to helping this population of students as they develop. With over 10 years working in both private and public school systems, with a range of age groups, Lydia is an advocate for the development of gifted individuals and programmes that support gifted education.
George Jackman BA, Dip. Ed., MBA Professional Development Facilitator
Movements come and go, ideas are generated, theories change, programs ebb and flow and ebb. "Plus ca change, plus les besoins s'augmentent." George has spent years working in different countries and education systems in secondary and post-secondary institutions. His roles ranged from classroom teacher, administrator, union representative, head of department among other areas. Then there is his work and experience outside of education. It all adds up to on-going expertise envisioning help for both teens and mature adults who seek to achieve a level of self actualization and of understanding to 'take it from there'.
